July 2026
For years, you've asked, "When will the museum open?"
Our answer has always been, "Soon."
Well... soon has finally become Fall 2026.
The New York Museum of Animation Art and Memorabilia is thrilled to announce that we have purchased our permanent home at 181 Church Street in Poughkeepsie, New York, and we are now hard at work transforming it into a destination where the art, history, and magic of animation come to life.
Behind the scenes, there's plenty of work still to do—because every great cartoon takes thousands of drawings before the first frame appears on screen.
When our doors open in Fall 2026, you'll discover original animation art, rare memorabilia, fascinating exhibits, and the incredible stories behind the artists and studios that brought generations of characters to life.
Thank you to everyone who has encouraged us, believed in our mission, and patiently waited for this moment.
The opening credits are about to roll... and we can't wait to welcome you.
Stay Tooned!
