I want to personally thank everyone who has supported the museum and continues to do so. Your financial contributions, art or toy donations, suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated and needed. The intent is to create and continue to evolve into a museum that showcases the legacies of the people who have worked in animation art and use the collection to promote learning.
At our last few board meetings the members realized that the move from a residential area to a commercial location is a necessity to fulfill the museum's EPPIC (Education, Preservation, Philanthropy, Inspiration and Creativity) mission. We need space! Unfortunately, New York City has become too cost-prohibitive for us. And we realized that this is actually a positive thing!
By moving to a location just outside of the city that is easily accessible by public transportation, including Metro North, we can be more centrally located to other school districts such as those in Westchester and Duchess County. This would enable us to reach the largest portion of the museum's mission target demographic -- young people! A larger commercial space would enable us to have more class visits and showcase more items as well as show more diversity in the items that are in the museum's vast collection. So the focus of our search has been redirected and we are looking into available locations.
We would be Yabba Dabba Doo happy to find financial supporters or philanthropists, who could purchase a location and allow us to rent with the option to own. If you are a community liaison and can help or have ideas, please reach out to us at nymaamny@gmail.com. We welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
And even if you would just like to say hello or give us some feedback: we would welcome that too! Thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely,
Greg
